The Marabou Stork is observed in the marshes, lakeshores and rivers of Africa. Its plumage is slate gray and whitish below, it has very long legs and flies the neck folded. It lives and also feeds into the open arid bush and in the wooded savanna. It’s in many respects close to vultures, wich it meets on the carcasses of large mammals such as antelopes and buffaloes ; it can easily break through the abdominal wall with its powerful beak. Carrions are its primary food source.
