This large bronze piece, distinguished by its exceptional patina and masterful casting, represents an exquisite example of the "torfan" type. The torfan, a python-like spiritual entity, can possess multiple heads (up to ten) and manifest in various forms. This bracelet carries significant protective power, warding off dangers and countering occult influences. Its strength is believed to increase with the number of serpent heads it features.The Gan people, closely related to the Lobi, are an ethnic group from the southwest of Burkina Faso. Their craftsmanship is expressed through objects such as rings, pendants, bracelets, amulets, torques, and funerary bells.

Cette grande pièce en bronze, remarquable par sa patine exceptionnelle et la qualité de sa fonte, représente un exemple exquis du type « torfan ». Le torfan, une entité spirituelle associée au python, peut posséder plusieurs têtes (jusqu’à dix) et se manifester sous diverses formes. Ce bracelet détient un pouvoir protecteur important, capable d’éloigner les dangers et de contrer les influences occultes. Sa force est réputée croître avec le nombre de têtes de serpent qu’il porte.Le peuple Gan, étroitement lié aux Lobi, est une ethnie du sud-ouest du Burkina Faso. Leur artisanat se traduit par des créations telles que des bagues, pendentifs, bracelets, amulettes, colliers et cloches funéraires.
